The Amt Leer was an administrative district of the Kingdom of Hanover or the Prussian Province of Hanover . The superordinate administrative authority was the Landdrostei Aurich .

history

The office was formed by ordinance of June 24th, 1817 from the former Leerort office with the districts of Nüttermoor and Ihrhove, and was enlarged in 1836 by the glory of Evenburg , which had been under the judicial supervision of the Leer office since 1817 . From 1867, the Leer office with the Stickhausen and Weener offices and the city of Leer , which is not an office, formed the (tax) district of Leer. In 1885 the Leer Office, the Stickhausen Office and the free city of Leer were merged to form the Leer district.
