Theodor Meyer (District Administrator)

Johann Theodor Meyer (born February 16, 1806 in Westen , Kurhannover ; † August 13, 1893 in Hanover ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Theodor Meyer studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1847 he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . After graduating, he entered the civil service of the Kingdom of Hanover . In 1869 he was appointed governor of the north office, a forerunner of the north district . In 1879 he moved to the Leer district as head of the district. With the implementation of the district order for the province of Hanover in 1884, he became the first district administrator of the newly created district of Leer in 1885 . He held the office until his death.
