history

In 1844, as part of the introduction of the rural community order for the province of Westphalia in the Paderborn district, the Lippspringe office was established. The official seat was in Lippspringe .

In 1879 the hamlet of Dören of the community of Benhausen was incorporated into the non-governmental city of Paderborn. In 1921 Lippspringe was removed from office and the official seat moved to Altenbeken. As a result, the office was initially named Amt Lippspringe with its seat in Altenbeken , before it was finally named Amt Altenbeken .

On January 1, 1969, the community of Marienloh was incorporated into the city of Paderborn.

Due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law , the Altenbeken office was dissolved at the end of December 31, 1974. Benhausen and Neuenbeken were incorporated into the city of Paderborn. Altenbeken was merged with Buke and Schwaney to form the new Altenbeken community, the legal successor to the Altenbeken office is the Altenbeken community.
