The structure of the official examination number

The first digit identifies the test center that assigned the official test number to the wine (1 = Koblenz ; 2 = Wittlich ; 3 = Trier ; 4 = Alzey ; 5 = Neustadt ; 6.7 = Bad Kreuznach ...). The next three digits stand for the municipality in which the applicant is based. Numbers five to seven are the bottler's company number.
