District Court Friedland (Lower Saxony)

The Friedland District Court was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Friedland .

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the Friedland office . The district court was subordinate to the higher court in Göttingen . It was repealed in 1859 and its judicial district was assigned to that of the Reinhausen District Court .

The courthouse west of the Friedland District Court served as the courthouse. It was built around 1820 with a massive ground floor and half-timbered upper floor and still contains the remains of detention cells. Today the building is a listed building.
