The Moringen District Court was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Moringen .

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the city of Moringen and parts of the Moringen office . The district court was subordinate to the higher court in Göttingen . It was repealed in 1859 and its judicial district was assigned to that of the Northeim District Court . The court was re-established and existed until 1973. Its judicial district is now part of that of the Northeim District Court.

District Court building

The district court building was built in 1721 on the site of the residential tower of the medieval castle. The plastered building with corner blocks under a hipped roof has been used as the town hall since 1975 and is a listed building.
