Amy Neumann-Volmer

Amy Françoise Neumann-Volmer (born March 2, 1957 in France ) is a German doctor who has long been committed to the global aid organization Doctors Without Borders . She was elected chairwoman of the German section's board of directors in July 2019.

Life

Amy Neumann-Volmer was born and raised in France. In 1978 she came to Germany. Here she studied medicine and got to know her husband Klaus Volmer, with whom she has three daughters. In 1989 Amy Neumann-Volmer received her doctorate from the University of Freiburg . Together with her husband, she runs a doctor's practice in Amtzell on Lake Constance .

During their vacation , the couple had already worked for Doctors Without Borders on many medical missions abroad . They also give many lectures about this and collect donations for the relief efforts.

Amy Neumann Volmer and Klaus Volmer were awarded the Cross of Merit on ribbon by the Federal President in 2016 for their great commitment . Amy Neumann-Volmer has been a member of the board of the German section of Doctors Without Borders since 2017 and was elected chairwoman of the board in 2019. Her husband was also on the board of the organization for several years.
