Amyntas ( Greek  Ἀμύντας ; † probably 325 BC ), son of Nikolaos from Aloros , was a Macedonian soldier and governor of Alexander the Great .

Amyntas took part in Alexander's campaign in Asia. He was born by him in the autumn of 328 BC. Appointed satrap of the province of Bactria . This office was given to Kleitos a few months earlier , but he was killed shortly afterwards by Alexander in a dispute. In order to keep the troubled province under control, 400 Macedonian warriors and the entire hippakontistai (native warriors) under the command of the Koino were placed at his side. With these troops he immediately put down a revolt of the Bactrians, which had risen immediately after Alexander had moved on. In the spring of 327 BC Amyntas received an additional 10,000 infantrymen and 3,500 cavalrymen from the main army as reinforcements. Most of these warriors revolted in 325 BC. After a false report of Alexander's death in India reached the province.

Amyntas was probably killed in this uprising. For the year 323 BC It is mentioned that Philip , who was governor in Sogdia , owned Bactria.
