Ana Salazar

Ana Salazar (born July 19, 1941 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese fashion designer .

She has been designing fashion since the early 1970s, and has been marketing her clothing under her own name since 1978. In 1985 she opened her brand's shop in Paris . Since then she has shown her collections at fashion shows in Paris, Milan, Lisbon and New York. She designed uniforms for airlines and the railway company in Portugal, costumes for various theater and ballet plays in Lisbon, and various azulejos , crystal vases and glasses, etc. a. In 2000 she presented her first men's collection against the backdrop of the Vasco da Gama tower on the grounds of Expo 98 in Lisbon.

She has long been the most famous Portuguese fashion designer. In the meantime, Fátima Lopes is considered to be the most international fashion designer in Portugal, but Ana Salazar continues to run stores abroad (e.g. Barcelona) and sells her products worldwide, as well as clothing, other products such as glasses and perfume. Ana Salazar's Lisbon shops in the Chiado district (Rua do Carmo) and in Avenida de Roma are also internationally worthwhile destinations for fashion lovers.

In 1997 she was awarded the Order of Infante Dom Henrique by President Jorge Sampaio with the rank of Grand Officer.
