Ana Vidović (born November 8, 1980 in Karlovac ) is a Croatian classical guitarist .

Life

Vidović comes from a musical family and started playing the guitar at the age of 5. When she began studying with Istvan Romer at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb at the age of 13 , she had already performed internationally. In 1998, at the age of 18, she finished her studies in Zagreb and was invited by Manuel Barrueco to continue her studies at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore . She graduated in 2003 at the age of 23.

Vidović has won numerous guitar competitions, including the Albert Augustine International Competition in Bath , the Concorso Internazionale di chitarra "Fernando Sor" in Rome and in 1998 the Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Francesc Tàrrega in Benicàssim . She performs worldwide and, according to her own statements, has made more than 1000 public appearances since 1988.

Vidović published her first recordings in 1994. One focus of the recordings is on compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and Federico Moreno Torroba .
