Anadrog

Anadrog was a West Slavic prince in Mecklenburg or Ostholstein in 1036.

He was the leader of a tribe of the Elbe Slavs in the sphere of influence of the Duchy of Saxony .

He was mentioned in 1036 when he appeared with Prince Gneus as a vassal in Hamburg to Duke Bernhard II of Saxony . No further information about him has come down to us.

Remarks

  1. The name of the tribe was not mentioned. It was probably a sub-tribe of the large association of the Abodrites , i.e. the Abodrites as a sub-tribe, the Wagrier or possibly the Polabians , which had not yet been mentioned at this point in time.
