Anamanaguchi is an American chiptune indie band from New York .
Band history
The band Anamanaguchi was founded in 2004 in New York. They are known for using a 1980s Nintendo video game console ( NES ) both on stage and when recording . They toured the US and UK for years, and in 2009 they produced their first album, Dawn Metropolis , which they distributed for free on their website.
In 2010, game manufacturer Ubisoft approached her and commissioned her to create the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World , the game adaptation of the feature film of the same name. The album release was so successful that it made it to number 3 on the Heatseeker charts and also in the official album charts .
The drummer Luke Silas also appears solo as Knife City .
