James Cole
James Cole (born August 16, 1988 in Southport , England ) is a British racing driver . He competed in Formula 2 in 2011 .
Career
Cole began his motorsport career in formula racing in 2006. This year and next, he took part in individual Formula Ford events. In 2008 Cole switched to the British Formula Ford. After finishing his first season in tenth place in the championship, he won the championship in 2009 with 7 wins from 24 races ahead of Josef Newgarden . He also made a guest appearance in the Pacific Formula BMW . In 2010 Cole moved to T-Sport in the British Formula 3 Championship . He competed in an older vehicle and was therefore entitled to points in the national class. He won this classification 11 times in 30 races and was finally runner-up behind his team-mate Menasheh Idafar .
In 2011 , Cole made his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship . He finished the season in 20th place in the drivers' championship.
