Anatoly Alexejewitsch Solonitsyn

Anatoly Alexejewitsch Solonizyn ( Russian Анатолий Алексеевич Солоницын ; born  August 30, 1934 in Bogorodsk , † June 11, 1982 in Moscow ) was a Soviet actor. In the West he was best known for the films of Andrei Tarkowski . In whose Andrei Rublev he played the main role.

Life

One of Solonitsyn's first film roles was that of the Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev in Andrei Tarkovsky's film of the same name from 1966. He was then repeatedly used, for example in Solaris (1972) and as the "writer" in Stalker (1979).

Solonitsyn played in numerous other Soviet film productions. In 1981 he won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival for the leading role in Alexander Sarchi's film 26 Days from Dostoyevsky's Life .

Tarkovsky planned to cast Solonitsyn in Nostalghia (1983) and Sacrifice (1986) as well, however Solonitsyn died of cancer in 1982 at the age of 47. His grave is in the Vagankovo ​​Cemetery in Moscow.

Friedhelm Eberle dubbed Solonizyn in Der Spiegel and Solaris .
