Anatoly Solomin
Anatolij Solomin ( Ukrainian Анатолій Соломін , English transcription Anatoliy Solomin ; born July 2, 1952 in Komarowka , Penza Oblast ) is a former Ukrainian walker who started for the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s .
At the European Athletics Championships in 1978 , he won bronze in the 20 km walk . In 1980 he was disqualified while lying in a promising position over the same distance at the Olympic Games in Moscow .
In 1983 he won the demonstration competition in 3,000 m walking at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Budapest and was third in the 20 km World Cup. The following year he was also runner-up in the friendship competitions over 20 km .
In 1977 and 1981 he was the Soviet champion over 20 km.
