Anděl is an impact crater in the rugged central highlands of the moon . Significant craters in its vicinity are Abulfeda in the south-southeast and Descartes in the east-southeast. The landing site of Apollo 16 is about 85 kilometers east-northeast of its outer edge .

The Anděl crater rim is badly eroded and distorted into a polygon. On the south side, Anděl G cuts through the border line and the edge is hardly recognizable there. The crater floor is almost flat with the exception of a few bumps in the southeast. There is no central elevation, just a mini-crater southeast of the center.
