Anders Frithiof August (born June 15, 1978 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish screenwriter .

Life

Anders Frithiof August is the son of the famous director Bille August and his first wife Annie Munksgaard Lauritzen. His two younger half-sisters are the two actresses Asta and Alba August . His younger half-brother Adam August is also a screenwriter. Like his father three decades before, he completed his studies at Den Danske Filmskole .

Shortly after his studies, the short film Grisen , directed by Dorte Warnø Høgh and for which August wrote the script, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film. For his two scripts for the biopic Dirch and the comedy Superclassico… my wife wants to get married! he was nominated for a Robert .

August worked with his father as a screenwriter for the first time with the historical film Per im Glück . The joint script was later also nominated for a Robert as Best Adapted Script.
