Anders Holch Povlsen

Anders Holch Povlsen (born November 4, 1972 in Ringkøbing ) is a Danish entrepreneur .

Life

Anders Holch Povlsen first attended the Business College in Herning, Denmark, in 1990. From 1990 to 1996 he completed a combined bachelor's degree in European Business Administration at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK, and the Berlin School of Economics and Law .

At the age of 28, he took over the management of the fashion company Bestseller founded by his parents, which grew out of a women's fashion store in Aarhus that they opened in 1975 . In the course of the 1980s, they expanded the range to include men's and children's clothing. Today the company has around 9,000 branches worldwide.

In 2018 he was the richest person in Denmark according to Forbes . Bestsellers include brands like Vero Moda , Only and Jack & Jones, and it has interests in online retailers like Zalando and ASOS.com, as well as payment provider Klarna . Povlsen is a member of the Zalando Supervisory Board.

Povlsen is one of the largest landowners in Scotland with around one percent of Scotland's land area with castles and pastures.

Private life

Constantinsborg

Anders Holch Povlsen is married to Anne Storm Pedersen. The family lives on Constantinsborg Estate near Aarhus. Three of the four children, Alma, Agnes and Alfred, died in the bomb attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday 2019 . Only daughter Astrid survived. In March 2020 he became the father of female twins.
