The Anderson Icefalls are a glacier break at the lower end of the Pitkevitch Glacier in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . The ice falls fall south-east of the Atkinson cliffs 30 m deep into the Somow Sea .
They were first mapped by the Northern Group under the direction of the British polar explorer Victor Campbell (1875–1956) during the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913). They are probably named after the owner of the foundry John Anderson & Sons from Lyttelton , New Zealand , who supported the research trip .
