András Bálint
András Bálint (born April 26, 1943 in Pécs ) is a Hungarian actor .
Life
After graduating from the Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem film school in 1965, András Bálint received an engagement at the National Theater (Nemzeti Színház) in his hometown. From 1969 he worked at the Budapest Madách Theater. Later became director of the Radnóti Theater in Budapest.
Bálint made his film debut in 1958 as a teenager with a small role in György Révész ' What a night . However, only shortly before the end of his acting studies did his actual film career begin with the lead role in István Szabó 's first feature film Zeit der Träumereien (1964). By 1976 he appeared in all four of Szabó's subsequent feature films. A highlight of Bálint's work in Hungarian film was his lead role in Zoltán Fábri's The Unfinished Sentence (1974). As in 1972 with Johannes Schaaf's Trotta , in which Bálint played the title role, he was also in 1977starring Szabós Budapest legend at the Cannes International Film Festival .
Since the 1980s, Bálint appeared mainly in television films. Occasionally he also worked as a supporting actor in international productions such as Ignaz Semmelweis - Doctor of Women (1988), Guten Abend, Herr Wallenberg (1990) and Stalin (1992), as well as in the German productions Verflucht und Geliebe (1981), Ein Lied von Liebe and Death - Gloomy Sunday (1999) and The Manns - A novel of the century (2001).
