André Beyney
André Beyney (born March 27, 1933 in Nouméa , † 1977 ibid) was a French cyclist and national champion in cycling .
Athletic career
Beyney was three times, from 1951 to 1953 French champion in the sprint of the amateur e. In 1952 he was runner-up in the traditional Sprinters of Champions behind Cyril Peacock in London on the 1948 Olympic track . He also came second in the Grand Prix de Paris . He was already nominated for the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki , but a fall shortly before the games prevented his participation. He had his best result at the UCI Track World Championships in 1953, when he advanced to the semifinals in the sprint.
Honors
A street is named after him in his hometown.
