André Clot

André Clot (born November 9, 1909 in Grenoble , † 2002 ) was a French journalist, historian and publicist.

Clot worked for the Agence Havas news agency from 1936 to 1942 , for Radio Brazzaville from 1943 to 1945 and finally for Agence France-Presse from 1945 until his retirement . He lived for many years in Turkey and in the countries of the Middle East and was considered a connoisseur of Islam . He published biographies of Islamic rulers and non-fiction books on the history and culture of Islamic countries.
