André Coelho Vieira
André Coelho Vieira was a Portuguese colonial official.
From July 31, 1688 to 1691, Vieira was governor of Macau , succeeding António de Mesquita Pimentel .
In 1697, Vieira was commissioned to take over the post of governor of Portuguese Timor and Solor , after António de Mesquita Pimentel had previously been sent back to Goa in chains by the Topasse rulers after serious mistakes . Together with the Dominican Manuel de Santo António he traveled to Timor , but in Larantuka on Flores , Vieira was captured by the Topasse Domingos da Costa in 1698 and sent back to Macau. Manuel de Santo António was able to travel to Timor and began his missionary work here. Only António Coelho Guerreiro was able to take up his duties as governor of Timor.
