André Ehrenberg

André Ehrenberg (born January 2, 1972 in Braunschweig ) is a former German canoeist who competed in the canoe slalom for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ehrenberg started for the RSV Braunschweig and the RKV Bad Kreuznach . In 1993 he won the German championship in single canoe and together with Sandra Schmidt in mixed doubles; he was able to repeat his success in mixed doubles in 1994. In 1995 he and Michael Senft took fourth place in the two-man Canadians at the World Championships in Nottingham, and the German two-man Canadians won the bronze medal in the team competition.

In 1996 Ehrenberg and Senft won the German championship title in two. In the 1996 Olympics , the two reached the third place and received the bronze medal. In 1997 at the World Championships in Três Coroas, Brazil, the French Olympic champions Franck Adisson and Wilfrid Forgues won ahead of Ehrenberg and Senft; In the team standings, the German two-men defended their bronze medal from 1995. In 1998 Ehrenberg and Senft won their second German championship title. In their second Olympic participation in Sydney in 2000 , Ehrenberg and Senft took eighth place.

Ehrenberg and Senft received the Silver Laurel Leaf for winning the bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics .
