Patriz Huber

Patriz Huber (born March 19, 1878 in Stuttgart , † September 20, 1902 in Berlin ) was a member of the Darmstadt artists' colony .

Huber attended the arts and crafts schools in Mainz and Munich. It owes its fame above all to the award-winning designs that were created on the occasion of a competition announced in 1898 for the magazine "Innen-Decoration" published by the Darmstadt publisher Alexander Koch. Even after Huber was appointed to the Darmstadt artists' colony at the turn of the century, Koch remained his greatest sponsor. There the interior decoration of the large and small Glückerthaus (1900/01) as well as other designs for furniture and jewelry can be traced back to him. In 1902 he left Mathildenhöhe with other artists and moved to Berlin. There he worked on drafts for a new housing estate before he committed suicide on September 20th.
