André Rötheli (born October 12, 1970 in Hägendorf ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player . Between 2012 and 2015 he was the sports director at Kloten Flyers , and between April 2018 and March 2019 he was head coach.

Career

André Rötheli last played for SC Bern in the 2006/07 season . Before that he worked for EV Zug and HC Lugano . Rötheli was one of the older players in Swiss ice hockey, but his skills were undisputed. André Rötheli had fine hands and was always good for an important goal, especially in the playoffs. He was also called Mister Playoff in Bern. "Roots" was also a robust center that tried to shape the game. His wrist "laser" was unmatched and remarkable in the NLA. His career came to an end on April 9, 2007 with the last championship game in the final of the Swiss championship against HC Davos . SC Bern unfortunately lost the series.

Rötheli finally said goodbye in a farewell game on August 18, 2007 in the Kleinholz Stadium in Olten , where he played against the NLB team of EHC Olten with a selection of celebrities and ice hockey players .

From the 2015/2016 season he was the coach of the Kloten Flyers' elite A-Juniors. At the beginning of April 2018, he succeeded Kevin Schläpfer, who was on leave, as coach of Kloten's relegation-threatened team in the National League. At the beginning of March 2019 he was given leave of absence.
