André de Rivaudeau

André de Rivaudeau (* around 1540 in Fontenay-le-Comte , † 1580 in Poitiers ) was a French Protestant poet and playwright .

Rivaudeau studied in Poitiers, where his biblical tragedy " Aman " (1566) was performed. It follows classic laws but has a happy ending. The style is pompous and there is little plot. Rivaudeau also wrote poetry, some with biblical themes, and translated Epictetus .
