Andradea floribunda is a tree in the miracle flower family from eastern Brazil . It is the only species in the genus Andradea .

description

Andradea floribunda grows as an evergreen tree up to 18 meters high. The trunk diameter reaches 60–80 centimeters. The trunk is corrugated and there are roots . The brownish bark has fine furrows.

The simple and alternate leaves are short stalked. The slender, slightly hairy petiole is 0.8–1.7 inches long. The entire, ovate to elliptical or obovate leaves are slightly hairy to almost glabrous on the underside and 6–12 centimeters long, 2–6 centimeters wide. They are pointed to pointed at the top.

Terminal or axillary, shorter and grayish hairy panicles are formed. The short-stalked, (unknown; hermaphroditic and / or unisexual) flowers have a simple envelope . The persistent, briefly overgrown, yellowish outside, white-greenish inside perianth is usually in three parts with long and spreading tips. There are up to 20 stamens that have grown together at the base . The hairy ovary is upper constant with a short, slightly curving pen with lateral elongated scar .

Roundish to egg-shaped and solitary, membranous fruits up to 5 millimeters in size, with a thin pericarp , with a permanent style and a permanent, three-winged perianth at the base ( false fruit ) are formed. The round seeds are blackish and up to 4 millimeters in size.
