Andrea Bähner

Andrea Bähner (born October 26, 1966 ) is a German journalist. She has been the government spokeswoman for Rhineland-Palatinate and Prime Minister Malu Dreyer since July 2016 .

biography

After graduating from high school in Betzdorf, Bähner began studying German and Politics at the University of Siegen and Middle Eastern Politics in Haifa . She passed her state examination for teaching at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . Before and during her studies, she worked as a freelance journalist for newspapers and radio.

After completing her traineeship at SWF in 1995 , she worked as a foreign reporter with a focus on war reporting from Bosnia and Kosovo, the Gulf War from Cairo and Kuwait, as well as the Arab world, southern Africa and Europe. In 2004 she became the ARD domestic correspondent and then editor-in-chief of the ARD office in Mainz. From 2010 until she took office as a government spokeswoman, she was the editor-in-chief of the state-political television magazine Zur Sorge Rheinland-Pfalz .

Andrea Bähner is married and has two children.
