Fritz Reuter Literature Prize

The Fritz Reuter Literature Prize has been awarded annually since 1999 by the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum and the City of Stavenhagen for new literature in Low German ( poetry / prose ) or for linguistic and literary studies. The prize is endowed with 2,000 euros and is financed in equal parts by the city of Stavenhagen and the Sparkasse Neubrandenburg-Demmin . The donors traditionally award the prize on November 7th, Fritz Reuter's birthday , in his home town of Stavenhagen in the castle.

Proposals for or applications for the Fritz Reuter Literature Prize must be sent to the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum Stavenhagen by September 1st of each year. The donors and an expert jury decide on the award. Applicants' writings should have been published in print within the last three years. There are no restrictions on the author's place of residence.
