Hartwig Suhrbier

Hartwig Franz Heinrich Suhrbier (* 1942 in Lübeck ) is a German literary scholar and former journalist.

Hartwig Suhrbier grew up in Roggenstorf (Northwest Mecklenburg ). He has lived in the Rhineland since 1953. In 1969 he completed his studies of German and history in Bonn with a master's thesis "On the prose theory of Arno Schmidt " ( MA ). From 1969 to 1980 he was the state political correspondent for the Frankfurter Rundschau in Düsseldorf . From 1980 to 2005 Suhrbier was WDR radio editor in Cologne .

In 1978 Hartwig Suhrbier received the German Prize for Monument Protection . He has been a member of the advisory board of the Fritz Reuter Society since 1998 . In 2017 he was awarded the Fritz Reuter Literature Prize.
