history

on the Rhineland-Palatinate cause! is the follow-up program to Ländersache on SWR television . Originally there were three state political magazines in the third television program of Rhineland-Palatinate, then on Südwestfunk (SWF) : Landtag aktuell , Deutschhausplatz and Transparent changed weekly. From 1993 the national political program was then called Politics on Thursday for a year. In 1994 this resulted in the magazine Politik Südwest. In the course of the merger of the SWF with the Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) to form Südwestrundfunk (SWR), the Ländersache started in 1998 . On January 13, 2011 it became the Rhineland-Palatinate cause! .

Broadcast content

At the center of the Rhineland-Palatinate cause! are current political issues that affect the people in Rhineland-Palatinate. The program consists of film reports, reports and interviews with studio guests.

on the Rhineland-Palatinate cause! translates politics into understandable language and exposes political antics, sometimes using irony. This was particularly evident in the animated film glossary Crowned Heads in the run-up to the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2011 . Here the opponents of the SPD and CDU , King Kurt (cartoon character by Kurt Beck ) and Weinkönigin Julia (cartoon character by Julia Klöckner ), fought a satirical duel every week. Since February 2013, when Malu Dreyer became Prime Minister, the series has been called To the point, honey!

Particular attention is paid to the Rhineland-Palatinate cause! regularly with their so-called political trend . The Politrend reports on the results of a representative survey in Rhineland-Palatinate and reflects the political mood in the state. In this survey, the so-called Sunday question is asked , among other things : "Which party would you vote if there was a state election next Sunday ?" In addition, the popularity of politicians in Rhineland-Palatinate and the opinions of citizens on political issues are regularly asked. The editors commission the independent opinion research institute Infratest dimap for this survey several times a year .
