Andrea Datzman

Andrea Kathryn Datzman (born November 2, 1980 in Contra Costa County , California ) is an American composer .

Life

Datzman began playing the piano at the age of eight. In addition to singing lessons, she also composed, so that she later studied music at the University of California, Santa Barbara . After receiving her bachelor's degree in composition , she studied with Andrew Imbrie for a year before returning to university for a degree in film composition. She then worked for the American film composer Michael Giacchino and assisted him in composing and orchestrated his pieces for films such as Mission: Impossible III , Star Trek and John Carter - Between Two Worlds . At his side, she also made her debut as a film composer while writing the music for the two television series Undercovers and Alcatraz .
