Andrea Gessa (born January 12, 1980 in Milan ) is an Italian football player .

Career

Andrea Gessa began his career in 1997 with the amateur club ASD Brugherio Calcio. In the following year, the then fourth division AC Voghera took him under contract. There he was able to impose himself as a regular player in his second season and completed 26 games for the club, which has since been relegated to Serie D. In 2000, the midfielder joined the US Pergocrema . With the club playing in Eccellenza Lombarda , he managed to move up to the fifth-class Serie D. Then the league rival AS Pizzighettone signed him and used him as a regular player. With Pizzighettone Gessa achieved the promotion for the fourth highest division. In the following year, qualifying for the promotion playoffs could be achieved with fifth place.

There, however, the team failed against the US Cremonese and missed promotion to the C1 series . For the 2004/05 season, the midfielder ran for Montevarchi Calcio Aquila in 1902 and moved a year later to third division US Grosseto . In his first season he missed promotion to Serie B with Grosseto when the team was just defeated by Frosinone Calcio . In the following year, the direct promotion for the second highest league was finally ensured. At the Tuscan club Gessa was always part of the regular squad and took part in the playoffs for promotion to Serie A after the 2008/09 season . The team lost in two games against the later promoted AS Livorno .

In the summer of 2009, Gessa signed with Pescara Calcio . He made his debut on the 1st match day of the 2009/10 season for Pescara when he was in the starting lineup in the 2-0 home win against Rimini Calcio and was replaced after 76 minutes. At the end of the 2009/10 season, he was promoted to the second division with Pescara. In the play-off finals, the team prevailed against Hellas Verona .

After three years with 78 league games in Pescara, Gessa moved to league rivals AC Cesena in 2012 .
