Andrea Quinn

Andrea Quinn (* 1964 ) is an English conductor .

She studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Colin Metters , George Hurst and John Carewe. as well as in Hungary at the Bartok International Seminar. From 1998 to 2001 she was music director of the Royal Ballet in London, then until 2006 music director of the New York City Ballet . From 2005 to 2009 she directed Norrlands Opera in Umeå , Sweden in the same capacity .

Andrea Quinn has also conducted major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra , the Philharmonia Orchestra , the London Philharmonic Orchestra , the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra , the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra , the Hallé Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra .

She has worked in Australia with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra , in China with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra , in Scandinavia with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra , the NRK Radio Orchestra in Oslo, the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and with orchestras in Italy, Finland, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
