Andrea Rings
Andrea Rings (* 1965 in Euskirchen ) is a German author of books for young people . With the manuscript for her debut novel Parkour - Only the Truth is Invincible , she won the 2013 literary competition The Golden Pick .
Life
Andrea Rings grew up in Esch in the Eifel , where she had a very natural childhood. After graduating from high school in 1984 at St. Michael Gymnasium in Bad Münstereifel , this closeness to nature led to studying biology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where she graduated in 1990. After further training in technical environmental management , she worked for many years as a waste consultant for the city of Mönchengladbach . Rings now lives there in the Odenkirchen district with her husband and their two sons.

Andrea Rings started writing seriously in 2001 and has been practicing it on a daily basis ever since. After training her literary skills in writing workshops and groups of authors , she submitted her manuscript Parkour for the literary competition The Golden Pick in 2013 . In the end, it prevailed against over 130 competitors and was awarded the prize. The manuscript was published in the following year under the name Parkour - nur the truth is invincible as Rings' debut novel with Chicken House Germany . Her second work followed in 2019 with the novel Falcon - Danger from the Air , which was published by Edel: Kids Books .
Activities in the literary environment
Andrea Rings regularly offers writing workshops for children and young people. She is involved in the Federal Children's Book Congress and runs the YouTube project Authors Dingsda, in which authors of children's and young people's books are offered a platform to talk about their work.
