Andrea Ritter (born December 24, 1978 in Erlangen ) is a German recorder player .

biography

Andrea Ritter received her flute training from Karel van Steenhoven at the University of Music in Karlsruhe . In 2007 she passed her concert exam there. From 2004 to 2007 she played in the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet .

In 2006 she founded the baroque ensemble Koschitzki & Ritter with Daniel Koschitzki , who had also studied flute with Karel van Steenhoven and who has played in the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet since 2001 . In 2007 the two founded the "classic band" Spark .

Since 2008 Andrea Ritter has also performed as a duo with Daniel Koschitzki. In her program Bird's Paradise , Andrea Ritter mainly plays works by contemporary composers on up to 20 different recorders, from the 25 cm long sopranino flute to the 2 m high sub-bass flute. Daniel Koschitzki usually accompanies them on the piano and only occasionally picks up the flute himself. The album Echoing Voices , released in 2011 by ARS Produktion , contains pieces from this program along with other works by contemporary composers. Andrea Ritter plays twelve different recorders from C-Bass to F-Sopranino and is accompanied by Daniel Koschitzki on the piano.

In addition to her work as a flautist, Andrea Ritter also gives master classes.
