Andrea Sick (* 1963 ) is a German cultural and media scholar and curator .

biography

Sick studied German, politics, cultural studies and art studies in Heidelberg , Bremen and Hamburg . She received her doctorate in 2001 from the University of Hamburg with a grant from the Heinrich Böll Foundation on the interactions between knowledge and vision in cartography.

From 1994 to 2000 Sick taught at the University of Bremen . Since January 2007 she has been professor for cultural and media history / theory at the University of the Arts in Bremen . Since 1992 she has also been the artistic director and managing director (together with Claudia Reiche) of thealit .
