Andrea de Meuron (born October 2, 1973 ; resident in Bern ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens or GFL Bern ).

Life

Andrea de Meuron completed an apprenticeship as a federally certified metallograph and completed a CAS course in the field of sustainable mobility and spatial planning at the University of Bern . From 1992 to 1993 she worked as a specialist in air pollutant emission measurements at the Office for Environmental Protection and Food Control of the City of Bern and from 1993 to 1996 as a project manager at Rolex SA in Biel / Bienne . From 1996 to 2009, de Meuron worked as a project manager in the field of damage analysis and process optimization at the Federal Materials Testing and Research Institute Empa in Dübendorf and Thun and from 2006 to 2015 she was the manager of the Thun-Oberland regional group of the Swiss Transport Club VCS . Andrea de Meuron was a member of the city ​​council (legislature) of Thun from 2007 to the end of 2018 , where she was a member of the security commission from 2007 to 2010 and the urban development commission from 2010 to 2018, of which she was president from 2010 to 2011. From 2012 to 2017 she was the parliamentary group leader of the Greens Thun. In 2014 Andrea de Meuron was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern , where she has been a member of the Health and Social Commission since 2015 and a member of the Office of the Grand Council since 2016. De Meuron has been President of the Greens parliamentary group since 2017.

Andrea de Meuron was elected to the municipal council (executive) of Thun in 2018 , where she took over the newly created Finance, Resources and Environment Directorate. It is responsible for the financial administration, the personnel office, the IT services, the building inspectorate and the environment, energy and mobility department.

Andrea de Meuron was on the Board of Directors of Grünen Thun from 2005 to 2018 and President of the Green Region Thun from 2009 to 2016. From 2007 to 2012 she was a board member of the Foundation against Violence against Women and Children and from 2009 to 2013 a member of the cantonal specialist commission for equality. From 2007 to 2013 de Meuron was a board member of the VCS section Bern and from 2015 to 2018 President of the VCS Thun-Oberland.
