Andreas Öhman (born January 24, 1985 in Kramfors ) is a Swedish director and screenwriter . His film There's No Feelings in Space was shortlisted for the 2011 Academy Awards .

Life

Öhman grew up in the country in Sweden. The first film recordings were made when he was 14 when he recorded friends with a video camera playing computer games. The desire to become a director came after seeing Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia . He studied film studies at Stockholm University .

In 2008 he won the most important short film award in his home country for My Life As A Trailer ( original Swedish title: Mitt liv som trailer ) . In 2010 there are no feelings in space (original title: I rymden finns inga känslo , English : Simple Simon ). It is about a boy with Asperger's Syndrome who is looking for a girlfriend for his brother. The film was nominated by the Swedish side for the Oscar for the best foreign language film for the Academy Awards 2011 and was put on the short list of the nine nominated films by the Academy. However, the award ultimately went to the Danish competitor In a Better World (original title: Hævnen ).

This was followed by the 2012 film Bitch Hug (original title: Bitchkram ) in which Öhman again directed and wrote the script . The film focuses on Kristin and Andrea's relationship while Kristin is hiding with Andrea pretending to be in New York.

Remake is a 2014 film that Öhman wrote and directed with Per Gavatin . The film is about a woman who has videotaped her entire life.

Öhman directed three episodes of the Swedish crime series 100 Code, about a series of murders in New York and Sweden. 2015 also came Eternal Summer (original title Odödliga ) in the cinemas. Eternal Summer is about a couple who meet, fall in love and spontaneously go on a tour and crime tour of northern Sweden. Öhman was inspired for this film by the death of a friend. The movie should have been something the friend would have liked.
