Andreas Böhm (born October 19, 1961 ) was a football player in the GDR upper league . In 1984/85 he played for BSG Motor Suhl in the top division of the GDR Football Association .

Until 1980 Böhm was active for Halleschen FC Chemie in the GDR junior league. At the beginning of the 1980/81 season, the 18-year-old moved to the GDR league club BSG Motor Suhl. Just four months later, after completing his apprenticeship as a locksmith, he had to begin his military service for 18 months on November 1, 1980. During this time he was able to play football for the army sports community forward Kühlungsborn in the third-class Rostock district league .

After his discharge from the army, Böhm returned to BSG Motor Suhl in May 1982. After a third place in the GDR league season 1982/83, Suhl made the leap into the league a year later. Of the 22 point and eight promotion games, the 1.77 m tall Böhm played 29 encounters and contributed one goal. Of the 1984/85 26 played league games, he completed 21, in which he was mostly used as a left defender by coach Ernst Kurth . Again he came to a goal. On his account as a defender, however, he also conceded 92 goals by the end of the season, which meant that Motor Suhl, the worst team of all 14 league teams of the season, had to relegate back to the second division after just one year.

Böhm continued to play for the Suhl team in the GDR league until 1991, even after BSG Motor became the 1st Suhler SV in 1990 . Looking back on his football career, he later said: "The ten years of football in Suhl were the most beautiful of my life." ( Free Word, Suhl, June 27, 2009)
