Lambert Reynst
Lambert Reynst (* 1613 in Amsterdam ; † 1679 ibid), Ambachtsherr von Amstelveen and Nieuwer-Amstel , was an Amsterdam ruler of the Golden Age .
Life
Lambert came from the Reynst patrician family . He married Alida Bicker, a daughter of Mayor Cornelis Bicker . Johan de Witt was one of his relatives . Reynst initially worked as a lawyer. Between the years 1649 and 1655 he was councilor of the Admiralty des Noorderkwartiers . Between the years 1656 and 1667 Reynst held the office of Schoutsamt in Amsterdam. In 1667 he became one of the windlifters for the Dutch East India Company . In 1667 Reynst was enfeoffed with the Ambachtsherrschaft Amstelveen and Nieuwer-Amstel. During his mayorship between 1667 and 1672 he received Cosimo III. de 'Medici in the Schouwburg van Van Campen .
When the republic in Rampjaar was attacked by England and France in 1672, the population turned against the brothers Johan and Cornelis de Witt . After the regime change, the De Graeff government and its relative Lambert Reynst were spun off from the city administration. In addition to his office as governing mayor, he also lost the honor of ambassador to Johann Hudde .

- His (former) housekeeper married the painter Meindest Hobbema in 1688 .
