Raschid Mohamed Raschid ( Arabic رشيد محمد رشيد, DMG Rašīd Muḥammad Rašīd ; * 1955 in Alexandria) is an Egyptian politician. From 2004 until the revolution in Egypt in 2011 , in the course of which he was dismissed, he was his country's trade and industry minister in the Nazif cabinet .

On February 4, 2011, at the request of the public prosecutor, he was banned from leaving the country and his bank accounts were frozen.

Career

Rasheed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Cairo University , and holds degrees in business and management from Stanford University , the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University .

Rasheed Mohammed Rasheed inherited a majority stake in Fine Foods from his father . In 1991 Unilever exchanged this majority stake in Fine Foods for shares in Unilever and Rasheed became Unilever's board member for Egypt, North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey. His position on the Unilever Board was suspended for the duration of his ministerial office.

In the Foreign Trade and Industry Ministry, which he headed in the Nazif cabinet , the Foreign Trade Ministries, which was led by Youssef Boutros-Ghali, and the Ministry of Industry, which was led by Ali El-Saeedi, were dissolved. Rasheed is married and has three children.
