Andreas Ballnus

Andreas Johannes Ballnus (born February 24, 1979 in Leverkusen ) is a German guitarist.

Andreas Ballnus achieved international fame as the guitarist of ex Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno . Numerous tours through Europe, including u. a. Germany, Holland, Belgium but also Russia have been on the program in recent years.

In addition to his engagement with Paul Di'Anno, he recently drew attention to himself as the guitarist of Agrypnie , who made a name for themselves above all at the Summer Breeze . In 2009, however, he left the band to concentrate on his own project Philosophobia. Philosophobia is a concept album from the field of Progressive Metal that has been created over years and consists of Andreas Ballnus u. a. from Alexander Landenburg ( Axxis , Mekong Delta ) and Domenik Papaemmanouil ( Wastefall ). According to Andreas Ballnus, Philosophobia is a long-cherished wish that is thematically too personal to reveal the plot of the concept and thus anticipate the listener's own interpretations.

Over the past few years he has established himself in the field of studio and live music and can be heard on various albums and singles (including guitarist for Ego Integrity, guest guitarist for Revolving Door or as main songwriter for Betty True).

He also wrote theater music for the productions Weird Systers , the Terry Pratchett stage adaptation of the Matchbox Theater Leverkusen , and for r@ausgemobbt.de of the Comic On! Theater written or produced.
