Communauté de communes des Ballons des Hautes Vosges et de la Source de la Moselle

The Communauté de communes des Ballons des Ballons des Hautes Vosges et de la Source de la Moselle is a former communal union ( Communauté de communes ) of the three municipalities Bussang , Fresse-sur-Moselle and Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle in the Vosges department in Lorraine . The name refers to the geographical location on the Moselle source near the highest elevations ( Ballons des Vosges ) in the southern Vosges . The municipal association was located in the extreme south-east of Lorraine and bordered the Alsace and Franche-Comté regions .

The municipal association had 5002 inhabitants (2007) on 83.04 km², which corresponds to a population density of 60 inhabitants / km². The seat of the association was the municipality of Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle .

The local authority association was founded on December 1st, 2006 in order to pool the material resources of the municipalities and to coordinate economic development.

With effect from January 1, 2013, the community federation merged with the Communauté de communes des Mynes et Hautes-Vosges du sud and thereby formed the new Communauté de communes des Ballons des Hautes-Vosges .
