Andreas Becker (born May 26, 1966 in Recklinghausen ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

Andreas Becker graduated from high school in 1984. He then studied education until 1998 at the Universities of Bochum and Dortmund . From 1986 to 2005 Becker worked for the Jugendheimstättenwerk e. V.

Party and mandate

Andreas Becker joined the SPD in 1983 . From 1984 to 1989 he was spokesman for the Jusos in Recklinghausen- Suderwich , and from 1990 to 1999 chairman of the SPD local association Recklinghausen-Nord. He has been working there as a cashier since 2000. On June 18, 2005 he was elected deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Recklinghausen.

In 1994 Becker was elected to the Recklinghausen City Council for the first time. There he has been deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group since 1999 and chairman of the committee for transport, fire brigade and civil engineering.

Since May 22, 2005, Andreas Becker has been a directly elected candidate ( Recklinghausen I ) member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. There he is a member of the committees for building, housing, urban development and transport and for local politics and a deputy member of the main committee and the sports committee. He is also the secretary of the state parliament.

Andreas Becker is married and has two children.
