Andreas Bluhm (born December 10, 1959 in Schwerin ) is a German politician ( PDS and Die Linke ). From 1990 to 2011 he was a member of the state parliament and since 2001 vice-president in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Bluhm completed an apprenticeship as a machine and system fitter after graduating from the polytechnic high school . From 1978 to 1979 he worked in this profession, after which he obtained the higher education entrance qualification at the University of Wismar , with which he completed a degree in social sciences from 1984 to 1987. From 1980 to 1990 he was a full-time employee of the FDJ . Bluhm is non-denominational, married and has two children.

politics

Bluhm joined the SED in 1979 . After the turning point and peaceful revolution and the associated renaming of the SED, he became a member of the PDS . He became a member of the Education and Science Union and the Presidium of the State Sports Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1990 he was elected to parliament for the first time, to which he belonged from October 26, 1990. From 1995 to 1998 he was deputy chairman of the PDS parliamentary group in the state parliament and from 1994 to 1998 deputy chairman of the culture committee. In 1998, Bluhm was elected chairman of the state parliament's committee for education, science and culture and remained so until 2001. Since November 14, 2001, he was second vice-president of the state parliament. Bluhm was also the spokesman for the left-wing parliamentary group for education, media and sports. He was elected from his party's national list. The candidacy in the state constituency of Northwest Mecklenburg I was unsuccessful.
