Andreas Concius
Andreas Concius (born November 25, 1628 in Wildenau , † May 16, 1682 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German mathematician.
Life
Concius first studied at the University of Königsberg and in 1649 went to the University of Wittenberg , where he acquired the academic degree of a master's degree at the philosophical faculty on April 22, 1650 . He then went on an educational trip that was customary at the time and took him through Germany and Holland .
When he returned to Königsberg, he was appointed professor of mathematics at the university. In 1658 he became chief inspector of the college and in 1664 took over the rectorate of the school in the old town of Königsberg. During his creative phase he published a geography, wrote about the difference between the old and new calendars, and dealt with the creation of calendars.
