Andreas Degkwitz

Andreas Degkwitz (born February 16, 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) has been Director of the University Library of the Humboldt University of Berlin since 2011 .

Life

Degkwitz is the son of the psychiatrist Rudolf Degkwitz and Regina Degkwitz. He studied library and information systems , German and classical philology in Basel , Freiburg im Breisgau , Cologne and Vienna . He did his doctorate on a pseudo-Aristotelian treatise on physiognomics .

Degkwitz has been the federal chairman of the German Library Association since 2019 .
