Life

Andreas Eberhard Rauber von Thalberg and Weineck (Slov. Kravjek, today the municipality of Ivančna Gorica ) was a German knight and councilor of Emperor Maximilian II and famous for his naturally large beard. It went up to the feet, from there reached again to the belt and then he wrapped it around a stick.

With a lady-in-waiting of his mother, Emperor Maximilian II had a daughter, Helena Scharseg, who was praised as beautiful and witty. Many lords and knights courted them. In the case of the two most important, the father decided that they should be owned by the one who put the other in the sack in the knight games according to the rules of battle. Andreas Rauber won against a Spaniard and married the natural daughter of the emperor. This marriage remained childless. His second wife was Ursel von Tschillack, who gave birth to four pairs of twins.
